Dr. Sanjay Nagral is an experienced surgeon specializing in surgical gastroenterology and Hepatopancreatobiliary surgery, with a particular focus on HPB oncology. He has a special interest in the treatment of liver tumors, acute and chronic pancreatitis, gall bladder, and bile duct stones and strictures.
With over 30 years of practice, Dr. Nagral has received training from prestigious institutions in India and abroad. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at GS Medical College and served as an Associate Professor of Surgery at KEM Hospital in Mumbai until 1999. He further honed his skills through fellowships at the Kings College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital in London from 1995 to 1997. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology at Jaslok Hospital.
Dr. Nagral has an impressive academic background with approximately 110 publications in indexed journals. He has also contributed to the editing of two surgical textbooks and has written chapters for six textbooks. Beyond his academic endeavors, he actively writes on subjects related to public health, medical ethics, and organ transplantation. His insightful contributions have been featured in publications such as the Times of India, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Mumbai Mirror, Hindu, Economic & Political Weekly, the British Medical Journal, Scroll, and Wire.
