Dr. Ganapathi Bhat M. is a distinguished individual who currently serves as a Senior Consultant in the Department of Medical Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai since 2006.
His primary area of expertise lies in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, where he has played a vital role as a core team member of the Transplant Unit. Over the years, he has successfully conducted more than 400 cases of both Autologous and Allogenic Transplants, including MUD (Matched Unrelated Donor) and haploidentical transplants.
Dr. Bhat takes immense pride in his significant contributions to the field, including performing the "World's First Case" of post renal transplant plasmacytoma. Additionally, he has achieved successful outcomes in treating NHL (Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma) in seropositive patients, marking a milestone in India.
With a wealth of experience spanning two decades, Dr. Bhat has treated a wide range of solid tumors and hematological malignancies using various modalities such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy. He is also actively involved in PRRT (Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy) for the treatment of metastatic neuroendocrine tumors and hormone-resistant prostate cancer.
Dr. Bhat's commitment to education and academia is evident through his active participation in teaching and academic programs. He is renowned as a faculty member for DNB Oncology (super-specialty) and DNB Medical programs in Mumbai. Additionally, he serves as a mentor for MSc and PhD students in applied biology and fellowship in Medical Oncology (under MUHS) at Mumbai University.
