Dr. Anil Heroor is a highly skilled Oncosurgeon with specialized training from the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, one of the leading cancer institutes in India. Currently, he serves as the head of the Advanced Oncosurgery Unit at Fortis Hospitals in Mumbai.
Dr. Heroor completed his MBBS degree from Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai. He then underwent general surgical training at LTMG Hospital in Sion, Mumbai. After obtaining his MS degree, he pursued surgical oncology training at the renowned Tata Memorial Hospital, where he gained extensive experience in performing a wide range of cancer surgeries.
Throughout his career, Dr. Anil Heroor has made significant contributions to the field of oncology. He has authored numerous publications, including 17 international publications, and has presented his research at various conferences. His work on esophageal malignancies has been recognized with Best Paper Awards at two international conferences.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Heroor is actively involved in teaching and training the next generation of surgeons. He serves as a faculty member at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to aspiring medical professionals.
Dr. Anil Heroor has also gained valuable international experience during his career. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at Kurume University Hospital in Japan, where he worked on a project analyzing the effects of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy on patients undergoing esophagectomy. He also had the opportunity to be a Clinical Observer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, USA, where he focused on reviewing multimodality treatments for esophageal cancer. Additionally, he visited the New York Presbyterian Hospital and observed surgeries conducted by renowned expert Dr. Altorki, further enhancing his knowledge in the field of esophageal cancer. Dr. Heroor has also attended the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea, where he received training in laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancer.
