Dr. Sawhney completed his MBBS degree from Terna Medical College in Navi Mumbai. He further pursued MS (General Surgery) at St John's Medical College and Hospital in Bangalore. To specialize in neurosurgery, he obtained an MCh degree from the same institution. In order to enhance his knowledge and skills, he embarked on Fellowships in Functional Neurosurgery and Epilepsy Neurosurgery in Japan, which he completed from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, he pursued a Fellowship in Neuroendoscopy from Jabalpur.

To expand his expertise, Dr. Sawhney completed a Certificate course in Endovascular Neurointervention from Delhi, which focuses on minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of various neurological conditions. He also undertook a certificate course in Pain and Palliative from St. John's Hospital, further enhancing his ability to address pain management and improve patients' quality of life.
