Dr. Dhananjay Malankar is an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon who has dedicated over 13 years to the field of cardiac surgery. He received his training in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the renowned All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, which is considered one of the top medical institutions in India.
After completing his initial training, Dr. Malankar chose to further enhance his surgical skills and gain extensive operative experience. He remained at AIIMS for an additional 3 years to refine his techniques and knowledge. Following this, he pursued a 2-year fellowship in adult cardiac surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in the United States, which is ranked as the number one hospital in the country. During his time there, he was exposed to advanced and complex cardiac surgeries, including procedures like LVAD insertion (Left Ventricular Assist Device), ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation), and Heart Transplants.
Understanding the importance of comprehensive cardiac surgery training, Dr. Malankar also pursued a 1-year fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. This specialized training provided him with expertise in congenital heart diseases and their surgical management. He gained valuable experience in performing neonatal and pediatric cardiac surgeries, along with their perioperative care.
Currently, Dr. Dhananjay Malankar serves as a full-time consultant at Fortis Hospital in Mulund. With his extensive training and experience in both adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, he is well-equipped to handle a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and provide the highest level of care to his patients.
